How to exclude a specific group of users from a plan view?

The customer has users names (owner attribute) ending with the dev group they belong to (..._ABC) and want to exclude a specific group from the view
The Quick query syntax does not seem to have a function to get a substring of an attribute or a wildcard:

 I don't think you can do that. The quick query is also only for work items and not other meta data.
