Cross-Referencing within DOORS Next and Published to Word

Bob 3 (1481564) | asked Aug 19 '22, 12:50 p.m.

I need to have cross-referencing within a document, within an artifact. For example, the following is a single artifact:

"The system shall initiate the pump motor under the circumstances outlined in Section 4.1.2 of this document. See Figure 4-2 for more information."

Where "Section 4.1.2" is a navigable link to the heading artifact for section 4.1.2, and "Figure 4-2" is a navigable link to the artifact which contains figure 4-2.

Furthermore, I need this to publish and function in Word.

Do you have any proven methods for this type of cross-referencing in DOORS Next and published to Word? Thanks!

Not sure if this is relevant - an article about captions for diagrams when publishing using ELO Publisher https://jazz.net/blog/index.php/2020/04/02/using-captions-for-figures-and-tables-getting-the-most-out-of-ibm-elo-publishing/

You will need to build a custom template using ELO Publishing to do this, but you can define a convention to use inside DNG, such as [REF 123456], where the number is the DNG ID of the artefact you want to cross ref, and then in your PUB template you can do a search and replace with Word cross references/bookmarks as you work through the template
