How to sort on 'Section' in DOORS Next Gen module via RS

Steven F-Burton (132) | asked Jun 08 '22, 9:58 p.m.
We are trying to report on a module using Report Builder, and were using the Section column to maintain ordering in DNG, however in Report Builder there is no option to reference this information so the report is returned in order of ID's (totally messing up the ordering) and there is no way to return the information to the correctly sorted order.

Is there a way to add this Section column to a report so that we can use it as the order? Could we perhaps do it via custom sparql queries?

The Section is a calculated attribute and is held in the Module context, not the text requirement.

This is because you can reuse the requirements in multiple modules, and can even add a requirement multiple times in the same module. Each occurrence of the text artefact in each module will have a different section.

This means you really need to pull the order from the module itself and that's not available by default, although ELO Publishing can access it via the Reportable REST API.

If you are sure that requirements are only used in one Module and only used once, then you could export a CSV from inside the Module and include Section, and then import it back into a custom attribute to make it available
