 Venkat,

You can only archive those users. There is possiblity to rename users but it is not supported for DNG.

It should be possible to rename ID's and names, also in DNG. I think the following would help: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1PI38550

Ralph,

Checked with IBM support. DNG does not support renaming the users if user was already working with the data.

For DNG it is not supported.

Ralph,

I know this workaround but please check Cause where it is clearly stated that DNG does not support rename.

There is an open RFE for that which is not implemented.

I put a warning into my blog.

Ralph,

I would say that I had a lot of "fun" with this product capability.

Hi Venkat,

Please don't submit duplicate questions - this is now the 3rd time you have asked the same question in the same day. It just clutters the forum for everyone else.

David.

David, I believe it is the Forum software that sometimes creates duplicate questions. The user is not necessarily aware of that fact.

Curious, because the questions were submitted with significant time (10s of minutes) between them.

I have seen duplicates often. Triples are very few. But maybe the user has not seen their first post and did a second one. I have seen odd things happen recently.

David answered on the duplicate question:

I'm not aware of any means to permanently delete JTS users. You can archive them, and if there are concerns about sensitive data, change the user name and email address to something non-sensitive.

I would add that it is also possible to change the user ID if need be. See https://rsjazz.wordpress.com/2012/10/12/changing-the-jazz-user-id-using-the-rtc-plain-java-client-libraries/

There is API to delete users, but it is not surfaced in the UI and you should archive the users only. Use Davids suggestion to randomize user names if needed. The link above hints APIs that could be used to automate this.

But also be aware, as commented by Bartosz Chrabski, that DNG does not support renaming JTS user ids.

So what if you have to? Any solution at all? What are the effects if you did?

Bartosz Chrabski commented May 25 '21, 9:58 a.m.

If You will rename the user in DNG in DNG contains user references like modified by, created by, change sets, refviews. Then it wont be displayed or corrupted.
