So I assume this isn't possible. Is it in plan to allow for querying
the last comment?

JAZZ DEVELOPER
You can query any text field of a work item by adding the Full Text parameter to your query. I think that's the closest you can get to searching the last comment of a work item. I'm not sure if there is any ability to customize a query further. You may want to create an enhancement work item to get this feature.

I guess what the customer really wants is the capability of having the
last comment appear as a column in a query results view.
