There is no official way to delete a project area. And it is not a good idea to do this at the database level because this can damage your whole installation/configuration.
There is no way to delete a Project Area, you can archive it. This will hide the project area by default and keep it from being used. Please, do not try to delete it from db2 database as you will get a corrupted data for sure.
