[closed] Add child test plan from other RQM-component (of same Global Config)

 Hi,

for a Automotive SPICE level 3 introduction project we need separate Test Plans:
  • Master Test Plan (overall company testing strategy)
    • System Test Plan (for a specific system)
      • Software Test Plan (for overall software)
        • Software Component Test Plans (for several software components)
For permission and reuse purposes, Master and System Test Plans shall be in the same Project Area "SYS" but in different RQM-Components.
For reuse purposes, the Software Test Plan and all Software Component Test Plans shall be in another Project Area "SWE" each in single RQM-Components "SWE.6", "SWE.5", "SWE.4.x".

All RQM-Components are in the same Global Config.

Now the question:
Is it possible to add all Children Test Plans from other RQM-Components to a Parent Test Plan, i.e.:
  • Master Test Plan has System Test Plan (both in different RQM-Components)
    • System Test Plan has Software Test Plan  (both in different RQM-ProjectAreas and different RQM-Components)
      • Software Test Plan has Software Component Test Plan(s) (all in different RQM-Components)

 Hi,

Do we link between two RQM components now in 7.0.2?

Thanks,
Thiru

Accepted answer

Permanent link

Short answer: No.

Longer answer: Currently (as of RQM 6.0.6.1), you cannot create any links between artifacts in different RQM components (a child test plan requires a link between the parent and the child test plans.   There is design and prototyping work being done now to remove that restriction (initially, between two RQM components in the same repository).
