HELP with understanding the Agile/Scrum configuration in RTC

 Hello,

We are currently checking the possibility to use Scrum/Agile structure in RTC and after reading a lot of materials, I still have question which I'd appreciate to be addressed directly.
  1. Is there a different between 'Agile' and 'Scrum' template in RTC? does RTC configured to use 'Scrum' template by default?
  2. If the answer of question#1 is yes, then:
    • which built-in attributes are required to Agile?
    • which built-in attributes are required to for Scrum?
  3. What is the different between "Time Spent" and "Time Remining"?  are they just different ways to calculate to "Estimate"/"Progress"?
  4. Where does RTC calculates the Progress and how exactly? is it showed only on reports?
  5. Can these built-in attributes be added to our existing WI workflow- "Features" and "Problem"?

Will appreciate the support.
Thank you very much!!

RTC includes predefined templates that support the following development methodologies:

  • Scrum
  • Formal project management
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Scrum is a lightweight agile process that supports iterative development. The Scrum roles are Product owner, Scrum master, Team member, and Stakeholder.

Formal project management is a traditional development process, often referred to as "waterfall," where development progresses in sequential phases: Requirements, Design, Development, and Testing.

Scaled Agile Framework uses the principles of Scrum but scales the process to an enterprise environment. RTC includes multiple SAFe templates (Essential SAFe, Full SAFe, Large Solution SAFe, and Portfolio SAFe). SAFe includes many more roles than Scrum, such as Portfolio manager, Business analyst, IT director, Enterprise architect, and Solution train engineer.

For details, see Process templates and SAFe.
