How many links are maximum possible inside a work item?

I have a scenario where a work item has more than 1000 links available due to automation and facing following issue,
In web: RTC cannot load all links (if more than 1000) and runs into a timeout. The WI is not visible.
In eclipse: loads very long but it is visible. But it is not possible to open the link tab. In this case the system is crashed.
It is not possible to save the WI.
So wanted to know,
How much links are manageable in maximum inside a work item? do RTC has any limits?

afaik there does not exist such hard limit.

At least
indicates that in the past it was somehow possible to handle 1000 links.

Which RTC versions (Server+Client) and browsers are you using? I would file a Support Request.

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the information.
The RTC version used is 6.0.5 and browser is firefox 52.9.0
