Can JRS and Rational Insight use simultaneously

Hi, 


Here, I am using CLM 6.0.5 and Rational Insight 1.1.1.7. The things is, JRS is comes with CLM and also I am using Rational Insight for generating reports. Both JRS and Rational Insight are different platform. My question is, is it possible to use JRS and Rational Insight simultaneously? Does the Data Warehouse will accept two different platform to fetch data's to generate reports?

Hello Kiran,

both Insight and Report Builder can be used at the same time to generate reports from the same data warehouse.
Just make sure that you are using only one ETL to populate the data, eithe the Insight Data Manager or the DCC one.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Currently we are using RI ETL for data collection. As suggested we will not be using DCC for data collection but I believe I can use both JRS and RI for reporting.
Also can you please let us know how can we disable DCC data collection jobs, is it possible that I can switch between DCC and RI ETL for Data collection i.e. at given point time only one of these will be running.

Hello Kiran,

if you have are using a custom ETL in Insight then you probably have a good point in keep using it.

Otherwise if you are just running the out of the box ETL, DCC is most likely the best solution in term of performance.

Please also note that Rational Insight is going out of support on 2018-09-30 so you might want to start looking at DCC in any case.

 Hi Kiran, yes ! JRS was launched on CLM 5 and since them we have this possibility to use both.

go to https://<server>:<port>/dcc/web and click on Unschedule for ODS Data Collection, Data-Mart Data Collection and Licenses Data Collection.

I prefer to use DCC ETL instead of Insight (DataManager) ETL because DCC has a better performance than Data Manager.

Hi,


We have upgraded CLM 5.0.2 to CLM 6.0.5 and because of which we have to upgrade Rational Insight 1.1.1.6 to Rational Insight 1.1.1.7. There is a step to publish packages i.e. Rational Insight Reporting Data Model (DW+CALM) through IBM Cognos Framework Manager. Here I download that Archive files from CLM 6.0.5 published the package but I am not able to generate reports whereas, I download the same file from CLM 5.0.2 and published the package, I am able to generate reports. To verify that I created a Project and Tasks in CLM applications and run the DCC overnight we were able to get latest data in reports using JRS and RI.

My concern is, When published a package from CLM 6.0.5 we got errors whereas, reports are generated from package CLM 5.0.2. Can we keep using this package to generate reports using RI on CLM 6.0.5. 

Please let us know your suggestion here.
