Is there any way to get RPE to update TOC (without using macros)?

It would be nice not to have to use style-sheet macros for basic stuff like this.

If RPE is able to create a TOC why can it not also update the TOC at the end of the export?

The update works OK when you do a PDF export so why not when you do a Word export?

Which version of RPE are you using. Update fields for Word is available from RPE 1.2.1.1. I think it was initially set to false but the default value was changed to true from RPE 1.3 or later.

Look for "update fields" property for word format and set it to true. You then don't need to use stylesheet or macros.
