work item: Extract work item copies attributes

I have the same attribute in two different work items type I created
I often create a work item from another one (selct text, right click,
extract work item)
Is there a way I can have my attribute filled in in the extracted work item
?

Example:
I have a waork item type A and work item type B
In each I have a 'customer' attribute
When I create B from A, I want the new B to have teh 'customer' field
already filled in (like we do for subscribers)

I have looked at the enhancement request and it has been resolved but no information as to how to do this. We have a agile team that dont like clicking much so I need to copy information across as standard ie Filed against, Planned for etc and if I could create a Task as default against the Story instead of choosing Children then Task etc then that would be good to
