Why are some work items in the "closed" group status not shown with the line through in the Children quick view?

I have a custom work item with custom work flow.  The work item is in a status called "Verified", which in the workflow for that work item type, it is defined to be in the "Closed" group.

When I view the work item itself, I see the icon next to the type/ID in the upper-right to be greyed, indicating resolved.

However, if I open the parent work item, to go Links tab, and look under "Children", this is shown without the line through it.  Other children of other work item types show the line through.

Are we doing something wrong?  Shouldn't all work item children in a "Closed" state group show with a line through?
