which version of eclipse is RTC client based on?

Hi Elhanan,
the Eclipse client ships with 3.5.2. However, you can use the p2 install with Eclipse 3.6 too. If you don't use the installation manager package you can install RTC into an existing Eclipse 3.6 and package that up into a zip archive to make sure everybody has the same version installed.
Thanks,
Ralph

i think it's eclipse 3.5.2 , if i'm right are there any plans to use helios?
we are using the client becouse we wanna avoid the confusion of what plugin download or or not to download.. (that is the question)..
i'm not sure i understand, you mean p2 install is the installation manager package ? becouse i tried that, but i don't know exactly what plugins in need to install, and i'm pretty sure you can't tell me here the the exact list of plugins i need to check inroder to match exactly the rtc client being shipped :)
actually all we wanna do is just check it's version control system (as opposed to the cvs we are using, yes i know you can integrate cvs with it as well, but dude, it's CVS, even eclipse deprecates it, folks are starting to move git, and i'm not sure how is that being used)..

Hi Elhanan,
please check the all downloads page for p2: https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-team-concert/releases/3.0iFix1?p=allDownloads
The download is an install site that lets you install RTC into an existing Eclipse 3.6. You can't pick capabilities, you install all, I think. This is NOT an Installation Manager repository, but uses the Eclipse way of installing features/plugins from an update site.
Also see: https://jazz.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17093
If you have any issues you can try following the hint about putting the files in the dropins folder too. Search jazz.net for dropins to find more tips.
If you do this successfully the Heliso/RTC install is fully portable (e.g. as a zip).
Of course you can also use the Installation manager repository and use installation manager to install in an Eclipse 3.6 instance you have on your machine. Please note, such an install you can't zip up and drop on another machine.
Thanks,
Ralph
