Hi,

I have created a snapshot(test1) on repository workspace. Now I want to promote it a stream. I get the below error.

lscm snapshot promote -r %jazz_repo% %stream_name% test1

Ambiguous selector "test1" matched multiple items:

Possible matches:

  (1657) "test1"

  (1659) "test1"

Problem running 'snapshot promote':

Ambiguous snapshot selector test1.


I believe there might be another "test1" snapshot on different repository workspace and different stream.


Do we need to have unique snapshot names through out project area ?

Hi, Rakesh

If you have unique snapshot name, you won't see "ambiguous snapshot selector  xxx".
But the tool allow you to have the same name snapshot. You can specify alias or uuid of snapshot instead of name in this case as they would be unique.
