RTC Project Areas we are unable to change the Defect Status from New to Triage. This happens when a "is Duplicate Of" link is added to the defect

RTC Project Areas we are unable to change the Defect Status from New to Triage.
This happens when "is Duplicate Of" link is added to the defect. Once we remove the link the status can be changed.
Steps to reproduce:
Create a New Defect customized Project Area "is Duplicate of" link to it.
Change status to Triage ( Status does not change )

Action Triage and (Triaged) Target State Group, has not  been selected
with any Resolution as "Duplicate" So when there is a duplicate which is associated with  and it was not permitting the action resolution, it was avoiding to do state transition workflow
