Can you display an artifact's permalink (URL) in a View?

We're using RDNG 6.0.3 and need to export a view that includes the URL for each Artifact.

We have a process whereby we import approved data elements from our Data Governance tool to a DNG project.  Users then link to those artifacts when referencing a data element in their requirements.

The DNG artifacts include a URL to the related element in the Data Governance repository, so that users can easily access more information about that element.

We now want to export the DNG artifacts, with the artifact URL, for upload to our Data Governance tool.

The end result is that user's could click the URL in DNG to get to the Data Governance item (this works) and users of the Data Governance tool could click the URL to get to the artifact in DNG (what I'm trying to make work).

I know that a Word "report" includes a hyperlink, but we need this in Excel or CSV format.

Is there any way to get the artifact URL into a View as a separate column?  If we could display it in an existing column, such as Primary Text, that would work too.

Thanks,
Carol

Hi Carol,

There is no attribute in DNG that exposes the artifact URL, so it would not be possible to export a view to CSV to get this.  What you could do however is either create an RPE report that includes the URL in the output, or use Report Builder to include the URL.  Report Builder also supports live data queries, see this topic for details.  Hope it helps,
