Using CMS NG.  We need to create a report that will be run regularly, we have been provided a list of 15 specific Epics and need to create a report for these 15 Epics that display all of their related open Children (Story).  This will be need to be exported into Excel.

From the Epic we need this field:

  • Epic #
  • Summary

From the Stories, we need following fields:

  • Story #
  • Filed Against
  • Category
  • Creation Date
  • Created By
  • Due Date
  • Description

Any help here would be greatly appreciated – this will be run and trended daily.   To not have to pull this out of the GUI will be a huge time save for this team.

What is CMS NG and why would Jazz forum users know what it is?

Assuming that the question is related to RTC, as the summary suggests, look at the Report Service that is available since RTC 5.0.2. There is no version number in the question, so it is impossible to tell if you have this available or not, which actually makes it a bit pointless to try to answer. The Report Service is the best option in any case.

Use tags or other means to identify the Epics.

Other options would be

1. Work item queries, again using tags.
2. Plans (if all the work items are planned for the same iteration and filter by tag.
