Changing the name of project areas on CLM

Ruth Goreti Gonzalez Rodriguez (25111) | asked Mar 20 '17, 5:24 p.m.

Hi,

We just upgraded a CLM environment (JTS, CCM, QM, RM), JRS, DCC and LQE from 6.0.1 iFix004 to 6.0.3 iFix002.
When we tried to add users to some project areas on CCM we got this message error:
The area cannot be created because its name includes one or more of these invalid characters: & < > " ' /ID CRJAZ6043E
This happens in every project area with those characters.

This technote suggests to change the names of the PAs: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21993070

But we need to know all the side effects changing the name of the project areas.

Thank you!

One obvious problem is the bookmarks widget if it is pointing to the artifacts of the concerned project areas as it uses the project name in the URL of bookmarks and they need to be manually corrected after the change.
Also the link mentioned anywhere(such as work item discussion field) related to external URL with project name would be broken.
Someone else may have more info to suggest here.

To my knowledge, the only issue is the one Don mentions, namely that external URL's that contain the old project name will no longer work.   Internally, all project area references use the unique ID of that project area, and not the project name, so all internal references will continue to be valid.
