 I am getting following error while trying to open widget in new window:

Report descriptor not found for: workitems.OpenVsClosedStoryPointsByIteration 

The widget that i am try to use is "Micro Open vs Closed Story Points by Iteration"

There are 2 formats of report resources.  Those that are on a dashboard have the 'micro.' prefix on their ID.  I suggest that you (or someone with authority ) go to the Reports/Reports Resources page and click on the Deploy New Resources link in the upper right.   The list that will be shown are those resources that have not been deployed into your project area.  The name of the resource that you seek is Open vs Closed Work Items
