Ji Yu (81117) | asked Sep 03 '09, 4:21 a.m.
Is there any security consideration in the username/password management in lab management ? I can input the username/password in machine info, but everyone can see that, there's security issue.

Yes, this is a known issue. Username/Passwords in Lab Resource details are displayed in plain text and are not encrypted as they travel over the wire.

If you are concerned about your team members having access to this information then you may not want to include it.

If you have specific requirements for how your team would use this information and how you would like it implemented, then please make suggestions or submit an enhancement.

Possible options include access to credentials based on Lab Resource Group (users can only see u/p for machines in a Group they belong to), Team Area based access, role based access, etc.

Regards,
John
