RTC: Is there a way to import a "Work Item Type" from one project area to another?

I would like to avoid creating a new work item type all from scratch, I would like to have a way to import it from another project area which already exists. Is that possible? it would be importing the attributes, workflow and everything?

Nothing I've seen suggests that this is possible in a user-friendly way.
