Switched to IBM Java extracted from the RTC Client and it worked like a charm
I would suggest to clarify this issue in the installation instruction.

I have seen similar things: https://rsjazz.wordpress.com/2015/04/07/the-day-the-jbe-stood-still/ and I would suggest to set a compatible JRE in the jbe.ini.
