vb.net apllication needs to communicate with RQM

We have a vb.net application that needs to connect to RQC, and pull data for test plans, test cases and workitems (defects).  I do no find any way to do this.  We are using Visual Studio Professional 2013, with Visual Basic 2013, and need to connect to RQM 5.0
