There is no built-in relationship between RTC and GNU Make.   If you want to use GNU Make, just have your RTC build engine of choice invoke GNU Make as one of its build steps.

I have found no direct reference to GNU Make within RTC. If  you are indeed after GNU Make, then you can find most information on the official site.
