Q re Story Status: Invalid

The "Invalid" story status is defined in the Process Template as:

Invalid: Set by the Product Owner if the story should never be implemented.

Why would I want the points associated with these Stories to be included in the

'Team Velocity' or

'Story Point Progress' widgets?

I guess that the assumption is that people did the work associated with the Invalid story... hence you should get the points.

Thoughts?

I am using RTC 6.0.1 with the SAFe 3.0 Process (Program) template.

I don't know what other think or thought........ Since the data collection job and the planning does not exclude this data based on the state, an option to fix this is to set the story points to 0 during the save transition to invalisdusing a custom participant.

It seems illogical that points associated with a Story would count toward velocity... I will submit a Defect and see what happens.
