files corrupted after loading a component

david beaurpere (5685) | asked Aug 11 '09, 4:38 a.m.
I am currently working in migrating my team to RTC 2.0 and I am getting rather worried.

when loading a component, some file contents get mixed up and a bunch of "outgoing changes" appear in my "pending changes" view.

As far as i can tell the behavior is that if you have 2 file in the same folder with somewhat "close" names, then one of the files will be loaded correctly but the other one will have the content of his "sibling".

for example, given the 2 files "AddBusinessConcept_wClassifierTest.java" and "AddBusinessConceptTest.java", the 1st one will load fine but the 2nd one will get the content of the 1st file.
In a particular folder i saw this pattern extending to 7 files, all with the content belonging to another one of the 7...

This is repeatable behavior verified on several clients using different repository workspaces (although based on the same stream and component)

It seems that individual developers can get around the problem simply by discarding the spawned change set however:
- our builds are currently failing because of this and i am not aware of any workaround yet.
- i am wondering on how much confidence to have in the file handling during SCM operations operations in general.

Would anyone know about this behavior?
anything i can do about it?

I haven't experienced this. Can you open a work item for this so we can discuss further.
