Any reliable ways to trigger Java ETL right after a night time maintenance?

A CLM 502 server needs to be down between 12am and 2am for maintenance (DB backup and etc) _every day_. If the ETL start time is set to 3am (with the default delay 86400), it does not appear to run at all. I suppose it will run at 3am "the next day", is it correct? If true, that will never happen, and the delay needs to be reduced to 12 hours or something, but then the ETL will likely run during the normal work hours. In this case, what's the best way to schedule the ETL? It does not seem safe to schedule it during the hours just before the down time because there is no guarantee that it can finish in time. Any suggestions?

I don't like to answer my own question but here are some findings, just for the benefit of the community.

It appears that the ETL job will not start within the first hour after a restart, due to an existing defect.

In the case that's reported to me, the schedule time was one hour after restart, which I believe is affected by the defect. We actually verified that once the schedule time was pushed back a bit (two hours after restart), the ETL job started without any problems.

Note: the defect is said to be fixed in 5.0.2, but the case that we observed was with 5.0.2.
