Unable to copy work items across project areas

Unable to copy work items across project areas . Getting the following error " Error fetching or storing defect XXXX. Details : Project area move failed. " User has sufficient access and license assigned to perform the action. User has performed the copy action on many occasions. User unable to perform the action for a particular work item alone. Analysed the logs unfortunately nothing significant. Any help will be much appreciated.
