How to bring in the systems template for RM into the LPA

I am trying to use LPA to create projects for a systems customer that wants to use a RM template that is not part of the LPA wizard.
My specific use case is :
I'd like to use the "systems" template that is part of RM when I provision a new LPA project but it doesn't show up.
I know how to manually create the RM project then link it into LPA project. I'm trying to avoid that extra step.

My general use case is :
How can the application templates that I care about to show up in the pull down list for both RM and CCM when I "create" an Lifecycle Project?
