How to update the Project Template in DNG

Shriraam Balasubramanian (4031238) | asked Oct 13 '15, 8:13 a.m.
Dear All,
I need to update the Project Template(SampleTest_Attribute)in DNG which is already in use by many modules within the project.

Currently the following steps are adhered:
1. Create a new template updating the attributes values
E.g: Attribute "Status" has three enumerated values such as Approve, reject and pending.(Which was existing in the previous template "SampleTest_Attribute")
2. Add the new value of the Attribute "Status" as Partially Agreed.
Now I need to update the update the template.
I am aware that we need to create a new template and new project area.
Do we have any other alternative ways to update the project template?

If so what will happen to initial values if we edit it?? Will existing modules which use the template will hold the same value after editing too?

Hello Ram,

You cannot update an existing project template.  As you noted you will have to create a new project template based on a project that has the changes.

Existing project data cannot be updated using the project template.  Project templates can only be used to create new projects.

I would suggest filing an RFE on the IBM RFE Community if you would like to see a new feature to change existing templates.

I hope this helps.
