TestSuite for planning TC execution

Thor Aaen (1728) | asked Sep 08 '15, 3:52 a.m.
 Hi,

As a old user og ALM (QualityCenter), I´m used to make the planning of what TC must be execetuted in what week. E.g is TestSuite - "Week 41", all the test cases that I have planed for this week and so on.
I know we have "Test Schedules" in a TestPlan, but I do only see this to conflict using a TestSute for week 41 or dos it?

I would suggest you create iterations for the weeks (e.g. Week 1, Week 2, etc.) in your schedule (see Timelines and Iterations in Rational Quality Manager) and create/assign test suite execution records against those iterations.

Hi Paul,

Ok, thanks.

But I suppose that it will still be ok also to use and/or re-use a Test Suite "A"  direct in the Test Plan.

E.g. a Test Suite named "Functional Verification Test - Bluetooth #1" and then #2 and so on, in the same Test Plan (child)

Yes.  In RQM, tests (cases/suites) are independent from where and when those tests are executed (case/suite execution record).
