Numbering of RM artifacts when exporting a module view to Excel

When we try to export a module view to csv (via the menu option on the Views column), it puts all the numerical ordered list values as 1) as if it doesn't see the sequence they were in.  Is there any way we can get the automatic numbering to export to the csv file?  I understand the CSV filetype doesn't support such rich features, but I would have thought the export would make note of the current numbering and persist it when writing out.

Possibly relevant: I notice this is similar to behaviour in the REST API being rendered in RPE, but it's been a while since I looked at it.
