Design Management: Can external data use ResourceLink widget implementation?

Hi all,

I'm importing data from a web service into a Design Manager gadget, an iframe. I want (part) of this data to support the ResourceLink hover popup functionality as mentioned here: https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/WebUIBook/ResourceLink

Is this possible to implement? Are there any ways to apply Jazz-supported popup functionality to outside data?
