we want to change a field in hundrets of Workitems.

Is there a way to do this without to notify alle employees which are subscribed in them?

Thanks you in advance.

The only approach I am aware of is to disable e-mail notification altogether. See https://jazz.net/forum/questions/13244/temporarly-disabling-email-notifications/13245

Thank you very much for the answer.

Under Serveradministration/EMailConfiguration I set the option "EMail Notifications active" to false.
Then I changed immediately some Workitems an still got Mailnotifications.

I there a delay until the changes take effect?
Have I to restart a module /the server after that?

Thank you.

You might want to try the approach outlined by Don Yang as a response to this post:
https://jazz.net/forum/questions/171108/how-to-clear-email-backlog-for-notifications

I've pasted the relevant summary below:
"Workaround:
The use case here is that you would like to be able to turn off notifications when you perform some task involving many changes. A workaround may be to first set the scrub task frequency to very rapid (1 minute?) and the Work Item Expiration to very small (1 minute).
Now turn off email notification...
perform the task...
wait a minute, then turn on email notification and reset the ChangeEventService and ChangeEventScrubTask values. This will scrub most events prior to the changing the scrub task configuration."

I wrote the utility posted here, which turns off email for users in a project

 Hi,

thank you for your help.

I changed two settings, deactived the Mailnotifications and restarted the server.

Then we changed the workitems.

Then we changed the two settings back an activated the mailnotifications again and restarted the server.

Since then no Mailnotifications are sent at all.

Did someone knew what could be the Problem.
