Execution Trend Report not relaible

Agnieszka Pietkiewicz (121) | asked Jul 08 '09, 11:07 p.m.
Hi,

I've set up a month long test plan with several milestones defined. Test plan was foreseen for 1-30 of June. Real test case execution started around 8-th of June or so. Nearly each day some new TERs were run.

I kept watching Execution Trend Report. At some point it started showing, already on the 1st of June ~20% of points were attempted/completed and exactly the same value has been shown for first half of the month. For the second half of the month there was other value shown, each day the same.
I started watching the report day by day and it was always only two or three values shown over the month (only the one for last day was correct).

In our team testers sometimes change execution results and weights few days after TER was executed. There is other team using RQM and they don't play with weight settings (always 100% of points is failed or passed) and their Execution Trend Report seems to be more reliable. That's the only difference between their and our settings. Most of the TER's are defined at the beginning of the month.

Does anyone know what is the reason for such weird statistics? All hints how to make this report working correctly are welcome.

Thanks,
Agnieszka
