How is the 'accumulated time' calculated in the Formal template?

We're using the Formal Template in RTC. In the 'Work breakdown and Schedule' Plan view, one of the columns references the 'Accumulated time' which is a read-only field whose value is calculated behind-the-scenes.

We haven't quite been able to figure out how that field is calculated to be able to manipulate it on the gantt chart. Does anyone have any insight or can explain it better than any of the articles on jazz.net?

Thanks!

Please see

for more information about the traditional scheduler. I am not sure if it answers your question, but I unfortunately don't have a traditional planning project with useful data to check.

Please note, the data computed by the plan is not an attribute of the work item. It is a value that is dynamically computed and presented on the plan.
