ClearCase-Jazz synchronization problem.
We installed the ClearCase connector. Next we imported an UCM stream. This was done without much problems.
After the import we moved the ClearCase views to another machine, a server. The initial created views were created on a local machine of a team member. Now we like to synchronize the change in ClearCase en TC. When the view "ClearCase synchronization" is opened, an message is display that no synchronized pair streams are found.(0 synchronized stream pairs found in Jazz repository|team area: https:......) What can be the cause of the problem, is it the move of the views? And how can we solve it? Regards, Maarte Oerlemans. |

Just to make sure I have it right, when you initially imported the data, the
CC views you used were created by the connector code, and they were local to the machine where RTC was installed, correct? And then you moved those views to another machine, presumably via cleartool commands? You can move/change the CC view, but you need to do it through the connector code. What version of RTC are you running? In M3 there is a right click option Change Properties --> ClearCase Workspace (might be worded slightly differently). In M4, those options have been moved to the properties pages. To solve the problem, I would create a new synchronized stream pair using the wizard, and specify the server where you want the views to reside. If you want to salvage what you've already done, you could try moving the views back to where they were via cleartool commands, and then try moving them via the menu item I referred to above. Doing so may allow you (I haven't tried this myself) to "see" the sync stream again, so you can modify it. I agree with all of Brian's comments below.
A couple of additional points: When you opened the sync-stream view, did you get any error messages? In M3, if you got an error about an "invalid sync-stream", the GUI wouldn't try to display anything about that stream. I believe that is the case Brian was considering (i.e., restoring those views would make the sync-stream valid, and cause it to then appear again in the GUI). But this would only be the case if you got that error message. (Also note that in M4, we've changed the GUI behavior, so invalid sync-streams are shown in the GUI, as well as providing a property page so you can tell what is wrong, and action buttons to fix it). If you did not get any error message, then another possibility is that you opened the sync-stream view on a different team area than the one that contains the synchronized stream. To see if that is the case, try clicking on the "choose a different repository and team area" tool icon in the upper right of the sync-stream view. I start to create a new sync stream pair. Only I get some error messages I do not understand.
I filled in all information in the wizard. After clicking on Finish the process starts. I get an unexpected error during "Setting clone roots...". The details are "could not look up default component." There are 2 streams created and 2 workspace in "My Repository Workspaces". However nothing is imported, but I "see" a sync stream in the CC Stream Sync view. I used TeamConcert M3 and ClearCase 7.0.1 to perfrom the import. Maarte. |

Hi Maarte,
There should be an entry in the Error Log view in the TeamConcert client for this error. Could you create a workitem and add this stacktrace to it (or just email me the stacktrace, and I'll create a workitem for it)? Also, can you reproduce this error? In particular, does this same thing happen if you try to create another sync stream? Also, what happens if you try to modify the roots of the sync stream that encountered the error?
