Jazz and IBM Data Studio Developer

Thomas McBride (122) | asked Jul 17 '08, 5:09 p.m.
How do I get Jazz and IBM Data Studio Developer to run together in the same Eclipse instance? I've tried using the Installation Manager to point Jazz at an instance of Data Studio and I've tried to use the Installation Manager to point Data Studio at an instance of Jazz. Both ways give me errors and refuse to install.

Right now I'm using SQL Explorer with Jazz, but I'd like to use a better tool like Data Studio.

Thanks!

I'm guessing that you will have to wait for IBM Data Studio Developer to
release on top of Eclipse 3.4. I think that existing releases are built
on Eclipse 3.2, which is not compatible with RTC. I don't know what
Data Studio Developer's plans are for moving to Eclipse 3.4

Minor note: The compatibility requirement is Eclipse 3.3, so a release
of IBM Data Studio Developer on 3.3 would be sufficient.

Cheers,

Hi

Another approach might be to install Data Studio into a std Eclipse 3.3 shell (if you can do this) and then RTC into the same shell. This approach worked for RTC 1.0 and WebSphere Portlet Factory 6.1
