Test Suites and associtions to Test Cases ?

4 answers

We have the ability to associate a test script with a test case, but if those scripts are part of suite, we don't have the ability to add association of a test suite to a Test Case ... is this something we're contemplating ?
To clarify, Test Suites are comprised of a set of Test Cases (and in a Test Suite, you can specify a default test script for each Test Case in the suite). So you can specify the desired Test Script to run for each Test Case in the Test Suite.
In v2 we plan to provide the ability to associate a Test Suite to a Test Plan that allows for some additional traceability.

So no, we do not plan to associate a Test Suite to a Test Case. In RQM, a Test Suite contains a set of Test Cases. We don't have plans to have the reverse association of a Test Suites to be associated with a Test Case.
If you have a particular use case or scenario you can describe to help us understand why you want to have the inverse relationship, that would be helpful.
Thanks.

The test case itself, is the "scenario" of what you're trying to test and how you're going to prove it ... if this scenario requires multiple players, to prove it, it is necessary to create a suite that follows that flow, allowing for multiple players to execute each piece of that puzzle. From a "where used" perspective, it would be help to understand where a test suite has been used and that could only be done if it is directly associated to the test case.

I have been using the XML import samples to re-create some of our test cases in our RQM 2.0 database. However, I now want to associate these test cases into logical groups via a test suite. I can use the GUI to do this but it would be quicker if I could use an XML import format.
It is possible to import a test suite definition and where can I find a sample definition ?
Thanks
