Floating Licenses in DOORS and DNG

Hi all,

I have following queries related to floating licenses.
1. Is DNG "Analyst" license floating/web-based? Can this be accessed from customer locations/different development location?

2. Is DNG users account based? Does this account need to be linked to corporate domain user account?

3. How does DOORS floating license work? Is this user based ? or multi user ? does this account need to be linked to corporate domain user account ?

4. Can DOORS be accessed from customer location/ different developer location?

Thank you in advance!!

[dmoul] Licenses for DOORS NG are managed on the Jazz Team Server and can be accessed over the network.

[dmoul] Licenses are consumed on a per-user basis. Most deployments use the enterprise LDAP identity store, providing one place to define users and a common mechanism for changing passwords.  It's possible to define users directly in the Jazz Team Server if you wish.

3. How does DOORS floating license work? Is this user based ? or multi user ? does this account need to be linked to corporate domain user account ?

[dmoul] DOORS uses Flexera licenses. "Authorized" licenses are tied to specific workstations. "Floating" licenses are managed on a license server and consumed on a per-user basis.

4. Can DOORS be accessed from customer location/ different developer location?

[dmoul] Yes, if you are using floating licenses and the workstations can talk to the license server (and doors server) over the network.

Hi Deepali

Floating License is never User or System Base

Floating License will automatically allot as per the Availably of License as First Come First Server Bases(FIFO).

Suppose Your Organisation Have 1 Floating License and there are 2 user in the organisation A and B.

User A loging the the DNG First Floating License assign to User A , User B have to Wait until User A Release the License or request to Jazz Admin who will Kill the License .Then Only User B can Allot the License.

Floating License always integrate with JAZZ CLM server where the CLM is Deployed in any Location (JTS Server).
