Can we migrate RTC from (WAS 7.0.0.35 & AIX 6.1) to (WAS 8.5 & AIX 7.1) then to (Tomcat & Win 2008) without issues?

Hello,

We have RTC 4.0.1 hosted on system with this specs (WAS 7.0.0.35 & AIX 6.1) , we need to keep this system working as is and want to have another copy of it on another machine that we have no edit access on it. So we think to migrate it to a second system with this specs (AIX 7.1 db 10.1 hosted on WAS 8.5 & RTC 4.0.5) on the second system we will reorganize the projects and delete some of them and do all needed configuration. Then finally we want to migrate from the second system to the final machine with this specs (Win 2008, db 9.7.6,RTC 4.0.5 with built in tomcat)

The questions are, Will we face any OS compatibility or any other issues with migrating or restoring db?
Can we go from WAS 7.0.0.35 to WAS 8.5 then to Tomcat?

If there will be issues from the proposed system configurations for the second intermediate system, what is your suggestions for it to be?

Thanks

There are at least three things that you need to think carefully.
1. You start with RTC 4.0.1 and end with 4.0.5. So you have to do an upgrade of CLM somewhere at some point.
2. Are you using DB2? You mentioned 10.1 for the staging system and 9.7.6 for the final system. If it is not mistaken, you are doing a downgrade, which may not be supported.
3. If you are thinking of running two systems simultaneously, be very careful, as it may cause corruption to the data.
