Why is it not possible to link a test suite with a requirement

Sany Maamari (13243851) | asked Dec 10 '14, 9:17 a.m.
hi all,
Let's assume that a requirement must be tested by a set of test cases, why is it not possible to link a requirement with a test suite ?

Is there a reason ? Could somebody explain it to me, probably some best practices that I don't know of.

Thank you for your help
Sany

Hi Sany,

Typically, the requirement would be linked to test cases by "Validated by" links.
The test cases lie in a test plan which can be linked to a requirement collection.

So, the containers are linked and the items inside it are also linked, but at different levels.  This is what we do and I think that this is the way the tools are intended to be used.

I hope this helps,
Walter

I agree on this procedure,
I also think that test suite are intended to execute a set of test cases in order to acheive an action.
This action could be extracted from a requirement.

But I'm maybe mistaken on how to and why to use a test suite.

Anyway thank you for your quick answer.

Create a IBM RFE (Request for Enhacement) from here with your use case. This goes to the RQM Product Management directly.
