Can you leave the JTS running when deleting RDNG Project Areas in v5.0.1?

We occasionally decide to delete rdng project areas in our TEST environment.  The last time we had to do this was under 4.0.3 when the RM application used the JTS database.  Therefore, the JTS had to be stopped in order to do the delete.  Now that we are on v5.0.1, the delete execution occurs on the RDNG server, does the JTS need to be stopped?  It would be beneficial if the JTS could remain running along with the CCM applications.

I don't get it. How do you delete project areas? I can archive them in the UI. I can not delete them, as far as I am aware. If I archive them, I don't have to shut down any server. In fact A shutdown of a server would only be required if you run offline repotools commands.

You delete project areas by running a repotools command, "repotools-rm.sh -deleteJFSResources ..."
