What is the preferred installation location for Windows clients?

IM and the Eclipse client default to an installation location of c:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\ under Windows.

I have been told by a consultant that it is better to install at c:\IBM.

Is there a benefit to installing at c:\IBM?

Does this affect our support from IBM?

As far as I know, there's no advantage to putting your client at C:\IBM and it shouldn't affect your support.
