Can you install the Jazz RTC 5.0 Eclipse Plugin to Rational Application Developer 7.5.4?
I have done a ton of searching. So far what I have found is
I have Jazz server 5.0, the June 2nd 2014 release. Colleagues at my company are running RAD 8.5 and are able to get the RTC 5.0 plugin to work. My team is using 7.5.4. Am I correct in saying this is based on Eclipse 3.4, therefore not compatible with the 3.6.x IBM Installation Manager repositories offered from Jazz.net?
I tried the steps outlined in the article on IBM's site I mentioned. I went to jazz.net's site to download the CLM-Web Installer for Jazz Team Server 5.0 (June 2nd 2014 release), selected Install an IDE Client, and finally when prompted, selected Use the existing package group, where I already have RAD 7.5.4 installed. I got this error:
Installing Rational Team Concert - Client for Eclipse 3.6.x IDE 5.0 is not allowed in this package group; it is not compatible with IBM (r) Rational (r) Application Developer (tm) for WebSphere (r) Software 7.5.4. It might be installed in a different package group.
Does the IBM article I referenced apply to an earlier version of the plugin that is no longer supported? Otherwise, how am I failing following the exact instructions?
Alternatively, I could just go ahead and forget about RAD 7.5.4 and upgrade to RAD 8.5, but I just need to be able to run WebSphere 6.1 server from the IDE, if there are any takers on how to do that.

Hi Michael,
According to system requirements for CLM 5.0 there is only supported integration between RTC 5.0 and RAD 8.5 or 9.0. RAD 7.5.5 is really old version and the integration between this version is no longer supported for a long time. I don't expect that you are able to make it running. You have two options here:

Thank you. I think that what I was looking for was somewhere that says what the requirements were. Thank you for pointing me to the system requirements for CLM 5.0. I was just not aware that this is where it was listed what versions were compatible with what. That would have saved me a ton of Google searches. |
