Migrating plugins/features maintained in RTC 5.0.x to 4.0.x
Hello, we have some plugin and feature code currently maintained in a RTC 5.0.x server that we want to move to a RTC 4.0.x based server. From our initial attempts, it looks like migration operation is not supported for this 5.0.x -> 4.0.x move. Are there any suggestions to somehow get this done so that we can preserve change histories, etc, short of upgrading the target server to 5.0.x?

You mean source code? there is no mechanism to exchange code repositories between server versions.
I had to go the other way, for 3.x to 4.x, and had to use a dual system approach
setup a 3.x intermediate server, duplicate code to intermediate, upgrade intermediate to same as target, then duplicate to target.. this kept the change history.
there is no way to go from upper to lower version RTC version.
