Is there a norm to the size of the Data Warehouse DB relative to size of the CCM DB ?
We are on CLM 4.0.3, and only use RTC CM (WI) & RRC. Our RTC WI is heavily used. Our DBs stand at, without a successful WI ETL job since Jun 10th, 2014:
ccm 125 GB (NO Source Control, NO builds) JTS 11 GB DW 200 GB qm 0.2 Gig (NOT used) Does the DB for our DW look abnormal ? Is there a rule of thumb as to the size of the DW DB wrt other CLM DBs ? Our WI ETL job does take days to run, is the cause for a hot fix to the Java ETL tool OOTB. |

Hi Long,
It is difficult to say if it is abnormal without information how exactly you use work items in your database. Anyway, from database size it looks that you use it in unusual way. Can you elaborate what you exactly do with work items in your RTC (e.g. whether you update work items programatically, how many WIs you create daily, do you have attachments, how many custom attributes you have, how many project areas you have etc.)? Regarding data warehouse (DW) size comparing to ccm: DW size depends strongly on the number of custom attributes and work item types in the database. DW creates also a snapshot every day (no matter how much you worked that day), so the size depends also on how long you have running this server. Please let me know if this is sufficient answer on your question. |
