Editing Script name deleted the test steps

Hello,

There is an issue for us in RQM test script editing. In one of our project user performed these below actions and this caused test steps deletion. And the scenario is with multiple test scripts.

User filtered the Test Scripts and then changed the approved status to draft mode for the Test Scripts.

Then modified the name of the Test Script.

Now again made the scripts to Approved State.

When user open script the steps are deleted.

when user look into history it say it has been deleted by user.

Is script name changing caused the test steps deletion?

what could be root cause for this. Is there any method to restore those.

Please suggest if any work around for this.

Which version of RQM is this? We had a problem like that in 4.0.1, but there, only expected results were deleted: https://jazz.net/jazz02/web/projects/Rational%20Quality%20Manager#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=76488

Hi Ashwath,

If you are on 4.0.6, you may be running into defect https://jazz.net/jazz02/web/projects/Rational%20Quality%20Manager#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=107945.

If so, please contact IBM support for testfix immediately to prevent losing more data.

If you are using RQM 4.0.6, see:

Please refer to this limitation article for details about an important issue that can be found when editing manual scripts in the Quality Manager web UI and contact support at your earliest convenience for a test fix.
