The database (Oracle) is on another server. We are trying to run setup but have had several problems in finalizing the setup to resue the existing oracle db/tables. We started by creating basic team.properties files in each apps confg dir (using anothe jazz server as an example). In multiple attempts we seem to be digging a bigger hole. Has anyone done this that can share their knowledge. If this is not possible, can we do a db export from the old db into a new one created after running jazz setup?

Hi Norman,
I am not sure what release you're using, but there are 2 issues when you do not have the teamserver.properties and the friends.cfg files when you try and restore the database. 1) Consumer keys will not match. See: https://jazz.net/forum/questions/57641/how-to-cleanup-invalid-consumer-keys and http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21502286 2) You will need to run the repotools command to reset repotools -resetRepoLockId see: https://jazz.net/help-dev/clm/index.jsp?re=1&topic=/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/c_repotools_overview.html&scope=null If this doesn't help, then if you cannot contact Rational Client Support, can you post any errors you're having, as it might be easier to give specific advice based on the error. Kind regards. Paul |
